Dear Friends and Colleagues,

It has been a little while since the last newsletter with announcements, but here we are again!

 

First up, there's a CfP out for an online conference about felt organised by the Association MOIRES. The conference is titled "Le feutre: Techniques, attestations archéologiques et répresentations" and will take place online on December 9, 2026. Papers are welcome in French or in English and should be between 20 and 30 minutes. Deadline for the CfP is August 1; for more information, please see the attached pdf.

 

The Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences is looking for a post-doc researcher for the position of Assistant Professor. The project is on the Middle Bronze Age connectivity. Again, details can be found in the attached pdf.

 

The professor Maria Teresa Zanola has led the project of a Modarchive portal at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore. The portal is dedicated to the history of fashion terminology and can be found under https://modarchive.unicatt.it 

It includes a dictionary/glossary called ModTERM and an image search tool ModSCAPE. All platforms are free to access; for ModSCAPE, you will need to get a password through a simple procedure.

 

Finally, and I am sorry for this being rather last-minute, there is a Summer School in the A3TEX Research Center in Rome about Archeometry, conservation and digitization of archaeological textiles in June, 22-27. The application deadline is May 24, so please act quickly if you are interested. The information on the Summer School is, again, in attached pdfs.

 

And finally, NESAT XVI has been announced to take place in Glasgow, Scotland, on 2-4th June 2027, with pre-conference tours on June 1. Call for Papers and website are in progress and will be available soon.
